The Client: I Am Fragrance
I AM Fragrance® is a brand who’s time has come. A colorful palette of fragrances with empowering and seductive names like “I Am Me”, “I Am Naughty”, and “I Am Blessed”, designed to remind you of who you are throughout each day. The brand is owned by vivacious Danica Siegel, who is a bundle of energy with a heart of gold.
It was important that we infuse her spirit into her website.
The Challenge: Custom Ecommerce
Taking advantage of the powerful Shopify platform, we needed to build a website that Danica’s team could easily manage- both the front end of the store as well as the back-end product inventory. It had to be easy for I AM® to update and add products within the style guide, and it had to be even easier to fulfill orders and provide superior customer service.
Most importantly, the website had to be more than a transaction. It had to be an experience.
Solution: Introducing Gypsy Chic
The term “Gypsy Chic” was coined by good friend and colleague, Rachel Roberts, of Oyl + Water, who we introduced to I AM® to help integrate online and offline brand strategy. The concept of Pinterest-esque “scrapbook collages” was brainstormed and evolved into a dynamic, colorful “essence” for each fragrance family.
To bring the collages to life, Greta Rose Agency produced candid product images for each fragrance (taking advantage of a snowstorm), and culled through the archives of revered images from over the years. The result was a website that would show off more than just a product in a bottle, but invite a heart-felt experience for the viewers, and a reminder to celebrate who you are.
Bonus: Client Photoshoot
Added into the mix was a delicious bonus project! I treated the client to receive a professional photoshoot, which she had never experienced! It was a joy to create – including an indulgent shopping trip, complete with my wonderful team of hair, makeup and photographer crew. I wanted Danica to personally embody her brand for her About Page. I believe strongly that every component of your site, including your own imagery, should exude your brand values. Here, golden neutral tones partnered with refined, expensive, perfect details to let Danica’s playful spirit rejoice! Light and reflections on both clothing and product bottles added intended sparkle. We had a blast!
