Wistia: Video Hosting Platform

Wistia is synonymous with Vimeo and YouTube….. but here’s why I like it better:

  1. Looks better on your website. You can customize the design and user-experience.
  2. Bonus features. Add an email optin, buy button, or any call to action!
  3. Analytics, analytics, analytics. These are the best ever, including heatmapping so you can see exactly when you lose viewers (or capture their attention!).
  4. Wistia has an awesome learning center where they give us helpful (and VERY entertaining) tips for how to use video as a strategic marketing tool! Good stuff to poke around in for inspiration.

YouTube (owned by Google) remains the best “ad streaming”…. so you still want to have a business YouTube channel and upload social teasers (with optimized tags and meta descriptions), which will draw folks to your website (think of these as mini-TV commercials).

But, when it comes to having your full, beautiful videos on your website, embedded beautifully into your web pages, I always use Wistia.
