Confession from a perfectionist: I just couldn’t risk not getting this done. Here is the audio from chapter 1, section 1 from How to Manage Your Own Website (Rosie the dog, and all.)
I’m Greta Rose, the founder of Greta Rose Agency and author of How to Manage Your Own Website. I’ve been designing and building custom WordPress and eCommerce websites since 2006.
I love my clients. They are amazing and successful at what they do.
But no matter the size of their business – whether sole proprietor or large company, based in a big city or small town – there’s always this moment when I hand over the keys to their shiny new website,… and they look back with terror in their eyes…
… and realize: “I have a website. Now what?”
Suddenly, in addition to running your business, you’re expected to:
Manage your website
Engage on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram
Have inspiring content with compelling visual images and videos
Understand SEO, rank well on Google
read and understand analytics
It can be so overwhelming, and it doesn’t matter how brilliant you are at your business, this is NEW information. Someone needs to sit with you and walk you through this new online frontier.
That’s why I wrote this book
I wanted to give my clients a fighting chance, if they took the time to start at the beginning, and not be afraid to ask the most basic of questions, to see just how fun this online “stuff†can be.
I wanted to create a resource which simply doesn’t exist anywhere else, that could break through the intimidation factor and explain everything you need to know in plain language that’s easy to understand and…, dare I say, even entertaining.
Most importantly, I wanted to convey this message:
There’s no difference between managing a website and a brick & mortar store. When you’ve created a website, you’ve opened a new virtual store location. And, just like a brick & mortar, you’d never leave it unattended to run itself or worse, let some stranger run it for you. No, you’d take the time to learn everything there is to know. So, even if your intention is to delegate managing your website to someone on your team, you can do so with confidence and authority.
My greatest wish for you is that this book brings you clarity and realistic action items that inspire you. In fact, if you don’t find at least 3 helpful tips from my book, I am more than happy to give you 100% of your money back.
Start by downloading your free playbook and know that I’m a real person, and I’m right here, I practice what I preach, so this book comes with a thriving customer support community.
